What you will do:

  • Support area maintenance mechanical teams with reliability and maintenance issues on Valves, Motors, Pumps, Valve Actuators, Mixers, petroleum quality and measurement equipment, and other mechanical equipment.

  • On a monthly basis review Bad Actor Management reporting to identify reliability opportunities. Collaborate with impacted stakeholders as needed to resolve the issues.

  • Lead and champion the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance best practices such as vibration analysis, lubrication management, maintenance overhauls etc.

  • Identify, develop, and monitor, quality issues related to mechanical assets to support region response to findings and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with the Region Training Coordinator to identify and coordinate mechanical technical training for mechanical maintenance personnel.

  • Collaborate with Electrical Maintenance Specialist to resolve multi-discipline reliability issues.

  • Work with the Reliability Engineer on RCA’s, FMEA’s, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Work with SME’s to address equipment failures and design modifications

  • Liaison with the MAT (Maintenance Advisory Team) as required, participate in region mini-MAT Meetings.

  • Provide input to the JPS (Job Planning Subcommittee) as required.

  • Drives job plan, engineering standards, and equipment specification improvements when identified.

  • Coach/mentor new mechanical technicians.

  • Collaborate with area maintenance teams, and planners, to identify appropriate parts and materials for equipment repairs and maintenance.

  • Identify specialty tooling needs for the region and support development of capital budget planning to modernize predictive maintenance tools.

  • Collaborate with SCM, Operations Services, and other SME’s to identify critical sparing needs, availability, and updates to sparing strategies to optimize inventory management and ensure timely return to service of critical assets.

  • Perform emergency response duties, as assigned.

  • Complete all mandatory safety training and technical training.

  • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with area maintenance teams, Region Engineering, LP Operations Engineering group, Operations personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identifying and implementing efficiency and cost reduction opportunities and measures

  • Supporting the development of technicians through formal / informal training and coaching

  • Ensuring standardization across the Region on mechanical equipment and technology

  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable DOT, EPA, State and OSHA regulations, and health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

  • Reviewing and maintaining Management of Change procedures and records

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • Completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or 2 year mechanical technical/vocational degree with 7 or more years of applicable mechanical experience, or 10 plus years of previous field operations experience (or equivalent mix of formal education and experience) or 10-15 years of applicable mechanical specialty experience in a leadership role.

  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills and experience.

  • Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance technologies such as non-destructive testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, and troubleshooting, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective computer skills.

  • Desire and ability to learn new maintenance concepts and techniques.

  • Knowledge of oil/gas pipeline operations is desired.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Proven ability to initiate and manage change, be innovative, think strategically, and work well with teams.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of oil/gas pipeline operations.

  • Certification in Vibration Analysis

  • Certification in Lubrication Management

Working Conditions:

  • 30% field work and 70% office work.

  • Available for emergency call via mobile phone, mobile truck radio, or home phone 24 hours a day.

  • Occasionally required to work long hours on short notice.

  • Occasional work in extreme cold (-35 F) and extreme heat (100 F).

  • Work occasionally required in high noise level areas and areas where vapor from crude oil and solvents may be present.

  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record and reside within 30 miles of primary work location.

  • Overnight travel of approx. 50 days per year may be required.

  • Travel throughout the region for coordinating activities with area maintenance teams, training, emergencies, and region meetings.

  • Occasional travel to attend committee meetings as required.

  • Compliance with Enbridge policies, procedures, and standards.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
