Position Summary
Provides data center design, deployment, and operations of computer systems. Coordinates with the Data Center Facility team to develop and implement plans to ensure the continued reliability of PG&E Data Centers to meet business continuity needs and improve the energy efficiency of these facilities.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.84 to $43.27.
Job Responsibilities
Support project kickoff meetings and design handoff meetings in support of IT project management team.
Project construction support calendar coordination and project scope walkdown scheduling/facilitating.
Project equipment receiving and staging. Shelf stock management and coordination.
Monitoring status and schedule for equipment scheduled for decommissioning.
Data Center Energy Efficiency Planning – Assist with the creation of plans to improve Data Center overall energy efficiency; Help with data gathering for quarterly environmental impact reports and quarterly energy savings/usage reports; Help provide quarterly capacity and availability reports; Help provide quarterly reports of costing associated with the primary Data Centers
Data Center Operations Oversight - Work with Building maintenance personnel to ensure consistent operations at DCPP, FFIOC, RCIOC and other control centers; help with data gathering for analysis of outages (non-service and service affecting); Help collect data for root cause analysis of service affecting outages; Review Data Center maintenance and other facilities work.
Project Support - Help Data Center team to manage resources: power, cooling, and space; Look for opportunities to improve energy efficiency on new IT projects; Provide facilities project support for small IT projects at critical IT facilities
Safety and Compliance - Ensure safe work practices, Attend and participate in required safety and professional trainings as required, Adhere to all Company compliance requirements and legal obligations, Submit all employee expenses in accordance with USP-10; Help provide accurate quarterly operational metrics/IT scorecard reports
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering-Electrical or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Desired:
Experience in data center facility, 1 year
KEW-Knowledgeable Electrical Worker certification
