The Legal Counsel will assist Investigations Associate Legal Counsel in oversight of Enbridge Enterprise Compliance Program. They will be establishing standards, controls and procedures to reduce non-compliance, unethical and improper conduct, for ensuring these are communicated and institutionalized throughout Enbridge, and for monitoring of compliance with these standards and procedures

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the Ethics & Compliance investigations team to conduct internal investigations into allegations of ethics and compliance-related misconduct.

  • Provide input to the design, development and implementation of a root cause analysis program to be applied on substantiated matters to inform on potential systemic enterprise risks.

  • Strategically develop and prioritize proactive monitoring in key risk areas for timely discovery of potential misconduct.

  • Revise procedures, reports, etc. as needed to address hidden risk or non-conformity issues

  • Apply data analytics, reviewing patterns and anomalies and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Keep abreast of changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends that are relevant to Enbridge operations and the Ethics and Compliance Program and to make vital modifications to policies and procedures

Who You Are:

  • You possess a Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited university.

  • Membership in alawsociety/bar association.

  • 4-7 years of experience in legal work with law firm or in-house legal group after receiving bar association membership.

  • Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize optimally and have a highly developed level of common sense and eye for business.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
