We are looking for an Analyst, ETRM & Position Reporting to support, maintain, develop, and deliver various information systems to the AES Clean Energy commercial business in Houston, Texas. This role will support the ETRM platform at the business unit and individual staff level, roll out new functionality to the business unit in concert with larger corporate IT, and assist commercial functions in booking deals and assets, modeling exposures in the ETRM system, troubleshooting issues with the ETRM and perform related reporting. Some after hours or weekend support may be required for this role, in cooperation with support from centralized corporate IT function.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interface with the Commercial and IT teams on items related to the ETRM.

  • Work with the Commercial Teams to develop and maintain internal and external tools for position / market monitoring.

  • Work with the Product Control team in building and supporting the commercial business.

  • Work with the trading teams to capture and validate trade entry.

  • Provide live support / troubleshooting for the commercial, risk and financial teams for information systems.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance customer applications based on contractual needs of external and internal customers.

  • Assist with data management solutions.

  • Learn the commercial business with the team, to grow skills and progress career path.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry in ET

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • ETRM experience (Allegro preferred).

  • PowerBi.

  • Experience with HTML, Python, Perl, SQL, R and query in XML helpful.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $70,000 and $85,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
